At the 2023 US Masters, players took 43 different magic items. Sir Jesse’s Boots of Striding were the most common, appearing 22 times. The list below shows how often players chose each item.
The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) summarizes how concentrated a set of choices is. Values near 10,000 indicate high concentration; values near 0 indicate more variety. The items at this event had an HHI of 386, which points to a broad spread of choices, even though some items were more popular than others.
Two of the most common 5-point items were the Staying Stone and Blade of Slashing, each taken 10 times. That could mean players were spreading upgrades across several units, but the counts alone do not tell us why they chose those items.
Sir Jesse’s Boots of Striding led the counts with 22 picks. The HHI and the number of different items both point to a varied selection at this event; neither measure tells us how those choices affected results.
The counts show a range of magic-item choices at the 2023 US Masters, with Boots of Striding the most common. The Staying Stone and Blade of Slashing were also frequent picks at 5 points each. This is one event, so I would compare it with later Masters lists before calling it a lasting pattern.
